Thing 9: Tech News Today Episode 441

This podcast comes from twit.tv.  There are over a dozen active podcasts (they call them Shows).  This podcast talks about the hot topics in the tech world.  This particular episode is concerned with RIM's PlayBook and the updating of its software to Android's Ice Cream Sandwich.  It also talks about the rivalry concerning Comcast and Netflix.  The third major topic is what a lot of people want to see; Microsoft office coming to the iPad!.  The complete show notes are at wiki.twit.tv.

The main host to the podcast is Tom Merritt.

I just used this Web 2.0 tool as a bell ringer.  I asked my students to go to Twit.tv/tht and find the episode that landed on their birthday and tell me the three things that happened in the world of technology on their birthday.

I used Photofunia to put my Grandfather on a hundred dollar bill.  Of course, he is priceless to me!

Thing Six - Voice Thread

Voice Thread is a great way to get students to comment and reflect on information.  Take a look at a sample Voice Thread I just created.  That is my 91 year old Grand father in the last frame!
